    Are you looking to build and grow your scientific toolbox and get hands-on experience with novel modalities? As a Research Scientist II in the Translational Medicine Drug Disposition Bioanalytical group, you will have the opportunity to make a difference. In this role, you will use your knowledge and lab/instrument skills to develop, validate and analyze clinical samples focusing on our novel modality biologics portfolio.

    About the Role

    Key responsibilities:

    • With supervision, responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of bioanalytical (BA) assay deliverables (PK/PD/IG) following SOPs and guidelines.
    • Also responsible for all assigned study/lab/project activities.
    • With supervision, analyzes and interprets PK/PD/IG data generated during clinical development; presents results to the project teams. 
    • Working in a GCP environment, adhering in strict accord to the appropriate SOP, HSE, and all relevant regulated health authority guidelines
    • Conducting lab activities and keeping timely raw data records in accordance with company and health authority guidelines.
    • Maintaining high level of competence on routinely used laboratory equipment and/or LIMS systems. Evaluating and setting up new technologies as they are introduced to the lab.
    • Contributing to the general lab environment, including instrument maintenance, writing/updating templates and SOPs, software validation activities, ordering supplies, etc.
    • Work collaboratively across lab with all members. Expected to be an excellent lab citizen.

    Minimum requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, life sciences, molecular biology or related field with 2+ years' experience working in a research laboratory or Master's degree in related scientific discipline and 0 years of experience. Some industry experience preferred.
    • Strong laboratory skills with proficiency in several biological techniques (ELISA, ECL, etc.) and their associated software.
    • Ability to work in a team and organize work across multiple projects to meet timelines
    • Eagerness to take on additional responsibilities when required; flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and strategies.
    • Strong desire to learn new techniques in the GCP Bioanalysis area.

    Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $73,000 to $136,000/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
